Quarantine: An update for humanity!

HEY HEY! Ok… Wow, with all the news, the memes, the scares, the rates and this complete isolation there is just so much going on! I don’t even know what to think about anymore.

I am an only child and I am a happy balance between an introvert who loves to journal all day long and an extrovert who is a bit hyper and wants to go be a social butterfly! So this “staying in all day and eating all my snacks” has not been so hard….so far. I am blessed with a crazy loud mom that keeps me entertained and a bunch of cousins who want to face-time every 10min LOL. So I think I’ll be keeping myself busy with the socializing department. BUT if you are having a hard time with this quarantine, if you are an extrovert who need to socialize in order to recharge or to feel whole…just remember YOU ARE NOT ALONE. <3 Just because we are not all together physically does not mean we cannot reach out to each other, send a loving text or face-time real quick just to check in. We are all in this together. AND PLEASE PLEASE stick to your rounintes. It’s the only thing that will keep us sane. Yes we can relax…yes we can take advantage of the no work/ no responsibilities time and stay in pjs all day and watch movies. But do that long enough and you will want to pull allllll your hairs out! You will drive yourself nuts. But don’t get me wrong, its ok to allow yourself to rest, to think about nothing for a bit.. I mean, this is such a unique time in our lives. We are allowed to cope with it however necessary. So don’t feel the pressure to HAVE to be “extraordinary” right now.

But after you’ve had a few days of that (or a week)…make a morning routine and stick with it. Make your bed every morning and go work out. Make breakfast. Go for a run! Shower and change. Changing out of our pjs even if we are not going anywhere is important for our mental health! Stay healthy, stay safe and please…stay sane! Don’t day drink…if you start now will you ever really stop? Don’t go to your unhealthy habits to cope with fear or anxiety. Stick to your plan! Write a plan down and stick to it. Hold yourself accountable. I promise, once this is all over we will be able to return back to our daily routines and if you sink out of them it will be really hard to get back into it once this is all over. Imagine all the amazing habits we can implement right now?

There are so many recourses online right now that can help you become a better you. That better version you’ve been dreaming about but you were always too busy to invest in. Some resources you can check out are Rachel Hollis. Check out her instagram page and join her community for more motivation. You can do the NEXT 90 days challenge with her which will help you thrive (her words not mine). Check out her Podcast called The Rise Podcast. Or you can read a self help book like Brendon Burchard’s book called “High Performance Habits”. I am currently reading that book and WOW, it is amazing! It helps you identify what habits you should be implementing to become a high performer at whatever you do! You can also check out Brendon’s Podcast where he posts daily motivational messages AND reads the book for free to you in his Season 4! YAY (you can thank me later lol). There is also Tony Robins who is incredibly inspiring! Oprah- HELLO AMAZING! And the Bible App! There are so many encouraging devotional plans on that app that can help you find more peace in the middle of the chaos.

It is said that it only takes 21 days to make a habit stick…well, we have over 30 days left of this quarantine. Imagine if you start now! Start by working out, drinking more water, journaling, being more grateful. Do things that you love, read that book you’ve always wanted to read. Start that blog you’ve always dreamed of having! Whatever it is, JUST START. And then just be consistent. And it will all flow out of you, your perspective will shift and you will come out of this quarantine better than ever.

Think of this process as an update. Just how sometimes we need to update our phone or go into the app store and update an app. Well, humanity is going through an update right now. Usually updates are to fix whatever glitch was there or to clear any blockage. Make sure you don’t go back to how things used to be. There is a reason why God allowed for this time to come, things weren’t working before, its time for change. Embrace this change- flow with it. You will be shocked how much you can grow!

God loves you and He is for you….and so am I. <3
